2018 Donor Program

Dear Conservation Friends,

Since 1959, the St. Joseph County Soil & Water Conservation District has been helping to preserve, improve, and protect soil, water, air, plant, and animal resources for future generations. In cooperation with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Indiana Conservation Partnership (ICP) we are able to provide a wider array of free technical assistance as well as cost share opportunities to the residents of St Joseph County.

While we do get limited funds from state grants, we have to work hard each year to raise funds to help with our conservation cost share opportunities, and our education and outreach efforts. The St. Joseph County SWCD does this with help from our donors and sponsors. We are asking for your help in our efforts as we continue to strive to expand into new areas of resource conservation and to educate, inform, and assist our community in getting conservation on the ground. In 2016 & 2017 we were able to cost share over 500 acres of cover crops!

As a Donor-Member, your tax deductible contribution goes directly to the future of our county, and specifically toward our 2018 education and outreach projects that aim to meet the unique natural resources needs of St. Joseph County (e.g. conservation cropping systems cost share which include cover crops, no till, filter strips and so much more; promoting and expanding wildlife, pollinator and woodland areas; and continuing to provide innovative and quality educational programs to the community).

In closing, we sincerely thank you for taking time to consider our request, and we look forward to your anticipated support!

Sincerely,

John Dooms

Chairman,

St. Joseph County Soil & Water Conservation District
