Native Plant Sale

We’re offering predesigned native plant kits! Each kit comes with 50 plugs and are a mix of native grasses, flowers, and sedges designed for an extended period of bloom time.

Kits are $150 to 190 each, plus tax. One kit will cover about 100 square feet when planted 18 inches on center. Orders must be placed by March 28th and will be ready for pickup at the first week of June.​

Below are brief descriptions, species and count for each of the eight kits available for Spring 2025.

Plant species will be labeled by common and botanical names, plant height, bloom time, and color, along with other growing information. Some substitutions may be required based on availability.

Basic Prairie Garden - $150.00

The Basic Prairie Garden features a selection of core native species that are fundamental to a native plant garden. The kit includes several key pollinator species which grow in most soil types and prefer full sun. Species: 5 - Asclepias tuberosa, Butterfly Weed 5 - Coreopsis lanceolata, Sand Coreopsis 5 - Echinacea purpurea, Broad-Leaved Purple Coneflower 5 - Eryngium yuccifolium, Rattlesnake Master 5 - Liatris pycnostachya, Prairie Blazing Star 2 - Monarda fistulosa, Wild Bergamont 5 - Penstemon digitalis, Foxglove Beard Tongue 5 - Rudbeckia hirta, Black-Eyed Susan 5 - Schizachyrium scoparium, Little Bluestem 3 - Silphium lacinatum, Compass Plant 3 - Solidago speciosa, Showy Goldenrod 2 - Symphyotrichum laeve, Smooth Blue Aster

Keystone Pollinator Kit - $190.00

The Keystone Pollinator Kit features species that will attract and host pollinators, providing essential food sources and habitat. Because each species included in this kit prefers certain growing conditions, research preferred growing conditions for each species prior to planting. Low-Profile Garden - $150.00

The Low-Profile Garden features a diverse selection of grasses and forbs that will remain short in stature, not exceeding three feet tall. The plants will grow well in sun/part shade conditions and prefer mesic-dry soil. Monarch Garden - $150.00

The Monarch Garden Kit features native flowers, including three varieties of milkweed, which provide food and nectar sources for Monarch butterflies to thrive. The included plants prefer sun/part shade and will grow well in mesic soils. Purple Rain Garden - $150.00

The Purple Rain Garden kit is a nod to you-know-who. This kit contains a selection of forbs which bloom in shades of purple, blue, and lavender. The plants will perform well in short-term flooding and temporary drought conditions. Prairie Grass Kit - $150.00

This Prairie Grass kit contains a mix of deeply rooted grasses and sedges. These species are low maintenance, will thrive in full sun, and prefer medium/dry soil. The Rain Garden kit contains a diverse mix of plants that are suited to rain gardens. The selected plants will perform well in short-term flooding and temporary drought conditions. They prefer sun/part shade. The Shade Kit contains a mix of shade loving wildflowers, sedges, and grasses for season-long interest. The mix of plants will perform well in shade/part shade and prefers medium soil.
